PG&E knows that teachers possess the power to inspire and enlighten their students. We also understand that any effort to do so requires engaging materials. That’s why we’re offering a variety of educational booklets and companion resources to help with classroom application.
These materials are free to you, but to order, you must teach in the PG&E service area. Please allow 2 to 4 weeks for delivery after that.

Aunt Sarah and the Amazing Power
GRADES K-2
This beautifully illustrated booklet tells a tale about three lovable kittens and their Aunt Sarah, with follow-up activities to reinforce safety tips. Topics include electric power lines and outlet safety, natural gas leaks, storm safety, water safety, and the dangers of planting and climbing trees near power lines.
Stay Safe Around Electricity, Water and Natural Gas
GRADES 3-4
This booklet covers basic energy awareness and safety. The learning is fun, with challenging puzzles and word games. Topics include fallen power lines, gas leak prevention and response, the dangers of planting and climbing trees near power lines, water safety near hydroelectric dams, and disaster preparedness.
Hydropower Science and Safety
GRADES 4-6
This booklet addresses multiple water-related science and health content standards. It covers topics such as the water cycle, how hydropower works, swimming and boating safety, reservoir, dam and canal safety, flood preparedness and response, watersheds, runoff and pollution and protecting your local watershed.
Electrical, Water & Natural Gas Safety World
GRADES 4-6
This activity booklet helps teach mandated science concepts while reinforcing electrical and gas safety. Students explore energy distribution, renewable and nonrenewable resources, circuitry, conductors and insulators, tree/power line precautions, disaster preparedness, and water safety near hydroelectric facilities.
